Additional Information

Career Guidance Service
A full Career Guidance Service is available to all students from 1st Year to Leaving Cert. Aptitude tests taken by 1st Year students indicate the subjects best suited to them.

Aptitude tests are also taken by 4th Year students which help them make choices regarding their future careers. Students are monitored throughout their school lives to see that they take the subjects best suited to their ability. In the Junior Cycle, each student’s progress is carefully monitored and guidance / counselling made available to anyone who requires it, under the guidance and counselling initiative programme.

Resource / Learning Support
The school operates an equal opportunities policy. The needs of all students are catered for according to the individual need. The Resource / Learning Support Room is equipped with the most up to date resources under the supervision of fully trained staff.

Year Head System
A Year Head system is in place. This means that a teacher is assigned to each year. This teacher takes a special interest in the students by monitoring their academic, personal and social development and keeps in contact with parents regarding the student’s progress. It is our policy to foster close co-operation between parents and teachers in order to support students’ progress.

Book Lending
A limited book lending service is in operation in our school. This means that students can have the use of school books for the period of time required which greatly reduces the cost of books to parents.

Extra Curricular Activities
Extra Curricular Activities include: Gaelic football, Soccer, Computer Club, Drama, Music, Swimming, Table Tennis, Pool.

Food Club
At 11.00am break and at lunch-time, food is available to students from the canteen. We encourage our students to stay in school at lunch time.
