Mission statement

Adult Learning.
Introduction
Many adults feel they missed out on education by leaving school early and would love to learn new skills. This helps to cope with all the technology that surrounds us. To be able to read and write well and use technology is vital to survive in today’s fast changing world. Learning new skills, becoming more confident, building up old skills and gaining certification is the key to future personal, social and economic success.
Adult Learning provides an informal and flexible starting point for adults who have been away from education for a long time or who did not enjoy school the first time round. Many adult students need to regain confidence and build on existing skills with the help and understanding of supportive tutors in a safe, friendly environment. Learning should be enjoyable and fun as well as gaining new skills for use in everyday life and work. We offer classes in the areas of in reading, writing, mathematics and basic computers. We also offer a variety of courses leading to FETAC levels 3 and 4 certification. These help adults upskill and progress to further education and training.
