FREE Triple P Parenting Programme For
Parents of Children 2-7 Years of age

The Group Programme gives you a good understanding of positive parenting and offers plenty of ideas to make parenting easier. Group Triple P gives you tips and strategies to help manage your child’s behaviour, build positive relationships and prevent the kinds of problems that make family life stressful. More than 450 local families have already completed this programme. The Triple P groups have been proven to work and are delivered by accredited staff.

What happens at these groups?

To a parent, it can be a scary idea that you will meet a group of strangers and talk about the problems you have raising your children. But most parents find Group Triple-P a supportive and helpful experience. Because in the relaxed environment of the weekly group sessions, parents are relieved to realise they’re not alone.

What is a Group?
Over two months, a trained Triple-P practitioner guides parents through their Group Triple-P course, which is a very thorough way for parents to learn about positive parenting. Group Triple-P is ideal for parents who have significant problems at home or for those who are coping well, but would just like to be ready for any issues that may eventuate. There are up to 12 parents in Group Triple-P sessions.

Session 1 – 4
Parents attend for four two hour sessions – informal gatherings where Triple-P’s parenting strategies are shared, discussed and practised. Practitioners don’t tell you what to do.

Session 5 – 7
These three weeks are set aside for at-home practice. During this time parents receive weekly phone calls from their practitioners who offer support and checks how the parents are doing. These calls take between 15 and 30 minutes.

Session 8
Finally, there is another group sessions where parents can review their progress and troubleshoot any outstanding issues. And of course, there are congratulations all round as parents take time to consider how much they’ve achieved.
